I have worked for a retail company for 2+ years now. I have met my requirements and then some (including traveling out of state, overnight stays to help with store openings, and transactions such as returns and voids, which are both required to be done buy a manager) Let me also say I am only a sales ociate. I have been promised the next available promotion that became available for a year now by my DM, SM, and have already done more than was expected and what i'm actually paid to do. I became pregnant in August of 2010. Between the months of november and march it was said multiple times by multiple employees (including my DM and SM) that i would be promoted once returning from maternity leave. I returned from leave on May 19th (2 days after my 6 week check up) and was only able to work nights to avoid daycare. Out of the first 10 days I was available I was scheduled 8 of them, working 4 days (for 6-8 hours at a time) in a row. This was fine before being a first time parent but I didn't plan on working so much as soon as I returned. Regardless of my feeling I needed the money to make up for my leave. My first nights bad were HORRIBLE my daughter screamed the entire time and my husband called multiple times asking me to come home. The first night I just had to deal with it. But the second was unbearable. My manager is TERRIBLE with having enough staff. Which meant no one could cover my shift. Well after going through two of the worst nights of my life I texted my manager explaining to her that I needed the transition of me returning to work a little slower and asked if it was ok. She replied very rudely say "its a LITTLE too late" and many other things . I then asked if I could try and have a couple of shifts for the next week covered and she said "ok". So I did. The next day before going to work (no one could cover this shift) I missed a call from her but had a voice-mail from her telling me to work that night but that I had been taken off the schedule for the entire next week, (this is not what I asked for I just asking if I could have 2 days covered by a co worker). I tried calling her back and she didn't answer. So I went to work that night and enjoyed my extended time off. A couple of days later I received a call from a co worker informing me that my manager had filled the position I had been promised for a year now. In all honest I have worked my OFF, done my managers job, and ANYTHING they asked off me for crappy barely over minimum wage pay (remember i've worked there for 2 years) and the only reason i've stayed is for the promotion. What i'm trying to figured out is whether or not what she did was legal? I've read tin the FMLA and maternity leave act that you cannot be ped over for a promotion. Please any advice would be helpful.

Ugh, with little girls do the meltdowns get worse as they get older?

Our 2 older boys never had meltdowns nor threw tantrums ... they were & still are pretty chill about stuff when it does not go their way. Well our daughter on the other hand is a trip... she is a good girl but is let one of her bros aggravate her or accidentally bump her while playing, or mess up her hair & she flies off the handle. Don't get me wrong, she is *not* the kids pitching a fit in the store for some candy, but she whines relentlessly at home in behind her bros, no matter what. They just ignore it half the time & call her drama, which makes it worse, but anyway... she is almost 5 & while she acts very mature for her age most of the time the meltdowns are seeming to get worse... do I have any hope of it tapering off, maybe when she gets in school????

Where I'm taking this, is I see so many Christians that put this dilemma out there for people to either conquer their sins or get on down the road. Either obey God's Word or split hell wide open. The sad truth of it is, is that we Christians are totally powerless against the sin nature that dwells within us. But to God be the glory, a way was made. When Christ died on that old rugged cross, freedom was purchased. You see, we don't just get holy and sanctified the day we get saved. We get justified by the cross of Christ, His shed blood at Calvary. But when we receive the Holy Ghost, the work of sanctification begins. But He doesn't say, okay Jesus did His part at the cross, now you have to do your part. It's this belief that have destroyed people, burned preachers out, discouraged the sinner from repentance. When believe what God has to say about us, it is counted unto us as righteousness. When we say I believe He died for me and that my righteousness is in Christ, God imputes unto us. Yet as we walk in willingness and obedience to the voice of the Holy Ghost, he will begin to establish the Word, or as some of you like to call it, the law, in our hearts. But He doesn't make whatever sin the focus, He leads us through things that will cause us to experience revelation in the Word. When He builds God's Word into us, that sin nature is being tore down. Because you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. How are we to really learn the truth, without the Spirit of truth revealing unto us. So, if our sin nature is being crucified by the Spirit sanctifying us through the Word, then we find that just like Jesus, who was the Word in the flesh, there will be longer anything in us to respond to temptation. No lust to bow to, that is. But at anytime we think we need to do "our part" we block the Spirit's ability to move in our life. For He can only operate by means of the cross. The cross is what gave the Holy Ghost the legal rights to live inside of us. So then, it is the cross that justifies and the Spirit that sanctifies. It is our complete reliance in that cross continually, not just when we got saved, but now, today, that will bring victory over sin in our life.

Files exported from audacity has horrible quality when used for Windows Movie Maker?

Not only WMM, but I also tried TrakAx. It both gives me a very fuzzy, weird sound. I tried exporting it as an mp3, WAV, etc. , but they all get messed up on the video editing programs. Extreme moisturizing bath-what can I use?

I have VERY dry skin. Every shower just dries it out more and lotion doesn't even touch it(especially my legs). I've heard that people with dry skin combat it by taking a nightly moisturizing bath. I have oils but they tend to be too heavy, coating my skin and causing me to break out. What bath moisturizer can I use every day that's not too expensive(since I'll use it quite often) and won't cause me to break out?

If I lose to small claim court from landlord can she claim the money if I file for bankruptcy?

I am paying installment to file for bankruptcy and I am doing it because we foreclosed our house and had a repossessed car after almost divorce problem we had few years back. When we got back we went to rent a house with my parents and it was an awfull old house and landlord was asking us to pay for tiny damages. We finally moved out when the landlord was getting unreasonable and Housing Right didn't even call back to help but only mailed us copy of our right. Now landlord is suing us for backrent for month of April even we moved out April 2nd. Also we took the popcorn ceiling out from the living room and master bedroom because it was falling off to my kids and we did it ourselves and then painted it but it wasn't done professionally so she is charging us for this as property damage also. Now we are due to small claim court this coming June but I will be done my payment for bankruptcy on August. If my landlord win, can I include this on my bankruptcy as credit. And what if my father is not filling for bankruptcy and his name is included to the lease, can our landlord claim the money from him cause he's not filling for bankruptcy.

My support system consist of my parents and 2 sinblings, however it is becoming stressful for them as well... i am just finding that there are no real options for a single mother, unless you are on the system of some sort... Has anyone froze salsa? If so...how was it after it was defrosted?

If the salsa has any kind of solid material in it (i.e. pieces of tomato, onion, etc) it will not work; freezin destroys any texture these foods have and turns the salsa into mush. If the salsa is almost all liquid (like the salsa at fast food restaurants or in the smaller bottles at the market) then it will freeze with little change...

Can linoleum trap moisture between it and the concrete slab?

We are removing the linoleum in our kitchen to install bamboo floors. It came up fairly easy (with just pulling). However, the linoleum backing and glue did stay behind. It appears to be damp and the glue and backing come off pretty easy with a razor blade. It did a moisture test and it came back positive with moisture but only looked like it was at the top of the concrete. Can linoleum hold moisture and if we let it dry out, will we still have a problem later on? I can't figure out if the moisture is coming from the slab or somewhere else (maybe due to mopping). ok so it's my birthday and I got my permit today. so my dad took me out to drive in some empty parking lots. I started off a little jerky with the accelerator and brake because it's an automatic, but I ended up doing really well. the fastest I got up to was 35 which felt fast for a first time driver. he's taking me driving again tomorrow to try some street driving. Inexpensive DIY decorating solutions for a damaged concrete slab? Pea Gravel?

My tiny urban "backyard" is nothing more than a scaling, uneven and moisture-patchy concrete slab (with a 6-8 inch high border) and a fence surrounding it. Next summer I'd like to fix the patio up but being on a tight budget, my options are few. I was thinking of covering the slab with pea gravel, but I'm concerned that the pea gravel could cause moisture problems. Would pea gravel be okay? Any other suggestions?

the 3870 card is the best one they do at the moment. with a decent cpu and 2gb ram you will be able play it on high settings at full resolution. dont recommend very high though. as for a psu, 500w min really. sounds like you're upgrading. if so i would defiantly say get an 8800 series card for crysis tho.

after hysterectomy?

I had an hysterectomy 9 weeks ago, but docs left my ovaries, so i won't go through the change. I was told we could resume gentle after about 6 weeks, but to air the side of caution, we waited till 8 weeks post operatively. But afterwards I bled, and had period like cramps, which scared the hell out of my husband, as he thought he'd hurt me. It wasn't a lot of blood, but enough to have to wear a pad. My dog got sprayed today. need advice!?

hay. my bull mastiff got sprayed today. she's quite sleepy as the drugs haven't wore off but she's starting to perk up than when she was in the car. i gave her some chicken to eat as that's one of the foods they said to give and i'm going to cook some more for her tomorrow when she's a bit brighter but what else can i do to make her feel better. i brought her water bowl to her so she didn't have to move so much. they tapped up a wound with some gauze and tape. its looking abit bloody. should i re bandage her sore with fresh gauze. they never said about doing that just said to stop her from licking it. i'm not sure if i should as if its still tender she might feel uncomfortable. shall i leave it till tomorrow or when? i just want to make it as comfortable for her as i can. what else could i do?

What is the age limit on a Liver Shunt Surgery?

I have a 5yr old Corgi with a liver shunt. I found out about it when he was a puppy and had blood work done before he was supposed to get neutered. I brought him to a consultation at Angell Memorial Vet Hospital in Boston, MA. to discuss the possible surgery. i oppted not to do the surgery and treat him medically because the risk scared me to much and the fact that you can't really sedate a liver shunt dog I didn't want to take the risk, if anything where to have happened to him I would never have forgiven myself. He is now 5yrs old and within 4months has had to be upped on his Lactulose supplement, which the vet said that the lactulose wouldn't work forever. I've been trying to do alot of research and every site I've looked at has said Surgery is the best way to go. I plan on having another consult with another Vet where I work, but does anyone have any idea how old is to old for this type of surgery and are there more risks because he's now 5? I currently have him on the Lactulose 3x per day,and Denosyl once a day, and he get's the Science Diet L/D (Liver Diet). Anything else I could give him that would help his liver and get rid of the toxins in his system? Also the vet never really gave me an estimate on the expected life span without surgery, Does anyone have any range or idea on the expected life span of a liver shunt dog without surgery and being treated medically?

I have a 1989 chevy s-10 4.3l 2wd auto. It has 93k miles. My transmission has always shifted well until today, It struggles horribly to shift and then when it gets to 55mph it wont switch over to the next gear. It does it in drive and overdrive. The transmission fluid looks alright its not burned, im wondering if it could need a new filter or something. Any advice would be appreciated.

How to become a teacher?

After helping my elementary cousin with a few simple math questions this certain feeling befell me. It felt... satisfying in a way. To impart knowledge unto the next generation feels good. For as long as I can remember I've always wondered and dreamed about what I wanna be when I grow up. Do I want to be a policeman, fireman, dentist, accountant, or maybe even a teacher? I have average hair, not soft but not too dry. It is somehow curly, not in a nice way but kind of messy.. i wash it using dove and i use a garnier conditioner. Why did my daughter even ask my opinion when she already knew what she was going do?

My daughter is 32 years old and has been living with a man 9 years her senior for the past 6 or 7 years. Their relationship has been rocky to say the least. Ok, I have started a daily walking regimen but when I walk on the concrete sidewalks my lower legs start to ache. When I walk on the soft track at the school I don't have this problem. Since the track is not always available and walking through town is a lot less boring I was wondering if there is any special type of shoes to use for walking on concrete?

Husband with large sole debts, worried Bailiffs will come calling?

My husband, who is no longer living in the marital home but with his girlfriend, has large sole debts that he cannot repay (built up during the marriage) although he is working two jobs (one full-time). I am worried that if the Bailiffs turn up on my doorstep (the marital home), they will insist on coming in and will claim all of my possessions to pay off my husband's debts. I love sleeping with my daughter and the connection of nursing her to sleep, however I don't want her to become dependent on me as a sleep aid... it was okay, but you need to check the spelling and when you were explaining who everyone is, it was too abrupt. i would suggest putting that part after the fight... because if you were really in a fight you wouldnt get off topic, you would just be thinking about how to stay alive, and dont say "let me just summarize" after this whole fight scene is over i would suggest that mabey on the car ride back home, when nothing important is going on to say something like "so as you may have figured out, im a vampire. But im not the only paranormal in this car. Haidas is a seer,l so she sees half visions which tend to come in haandy. Teris, well he's a shawna, which is basically a half vampire and half seer." and while your in the fight scene, you should make little clues that will get the reader to already know what Sendia is. say things like, instead of my teeth chattered against eachother and rattled my brain. say "my fangs chattered against each other and rattled my brain" and instead of telling the reader the main characters name right off the bat, make them wait and wonder a little, it will keep their attention. and so i suggest that after you explain what everyone is, you have some one say something like have Haidas say to Teris "your lucky, man. If Sendia hadn't killed that minotaur then you would be dead right now" and then everyone will know her name. and avoid using words like thingy.... this is a very good start, the story so far is good... it grabs your attention... you just need to get better vocabulary and spelling. hope this helps :)
