What can I do to get rid of the imprint of the milkcrate I used to transport my lcd monitor? It is a bruise.?

I used a milkcrate to transport my lcd monitor. It now has a "bruise" or dark spot on it. Is there any way to fix this? Or should I just use it as an excuse to buy a new puter?
