Sore throat, 3 days to get rid of it!!?

I've had a sore throat for the past 3 days, slight cough and raspy voice. I have to go somewhere on friday and I need a fast easy solution, not salt and water! Im taking mucinex dm(cough suppressant) and I can't tell if its working because I can only take two pills every 12 hours! please help!!
