Should I Play Tenor or Alto Saxophone?

I play clarinet in concert band, but I'm thinking about doubling up on instruments and playing sax. Which should I play: tenor or alto (keep in mind that I would prefer spending as little money as I can)? Both are pretty easy to learn and because I play clarinet, I'll just have to loosen my lips to play (keys are almost exactly the same). I also want to try out for jazz with which ever one I choose. Please give a reason for your answer. Thanks~
