I found a house in the newspaper that will be sold at auction. Now what?

There is a house listed in the legal section of the newspaper that will be sold on the courthouse steps to the highest bidder. I would love to get this house but I don't know where to go from here. The original principal amount is $352,000, what could I expect to pay for it? What should my first steps be?
