Does separation of church and state = NO on Prop 8?

If my question is true then how did this Prop even make the ballet, taking away rights that got ped already seems unfair and stupid. Why isn't their a double jeopardy clause with these props, especially since it just got ped not to long ago. and one more thing does this have ANYTHING to do with schools?
