IF YOU ARE A MALE PLEASE GIVE ME SOME INSIGHT..PULEEEASE?

ive been seeing this guy off and on now for about 8 yrs. we have known eachother since we were 15, im now 23.to make a long story short we moved to opposite sides of the country and i went to see him for new yrs eve, before this we were talking for a few months and discussing possibly building towards a relationship. anyways, went to see him. we didnt even go out much, we just lounged together and had a lottt. which is amazing by the way. when we were lounging hed wlk up to me an kiss me , kiss my cheek, my forehead, hold my hand and cuddle with me. we would even gaze into eachothers eye when we had . hes always been finicky with his feelings and seems rather indecisive. hes 24 and never had a relationship before. well he told me like the next day, i stayed with him for a week by the way, that he just didnt think he had those types of feelings for me. i dont get it, to me you can tell by someone bodys language more than the words theyre saying? what do you guys think? is it possible to act this way twds someone u dont care about?
