Problem connecting Grafix card to TV?

i m tryin to connect my desktop to tv via RAC(AV). i have nvidia 8400 and s video to rac. when i connect it to tv which has AV and other end to PC which has s video i dont get a signal. i even tried forced detection. what should i do please help
